Should you be elected, how will you connect with your constituents to learn more about issues they care most about?
I will hold at least two ward meetings a year so people can be heard on issues that they are concerned about. I will also use social media to connect with people in our ward.
In your opinion, what are key issues affecting your Ward?
NO Communication. We haven't had a ward meeting in years. Crime: I almost fell into an open drain because the cover had been stolen for scrap metal. Accountability on projects like the downtown sidewalk project.
Why are you running? To increase communication and accountability.
Why should voters choose you over your opponent (what uniquely qualifies you to represent the public)?
I have spent my whole career communicating with people. I am directly impacted by school issues and am very good at being fair but firm in getting answers for people. I get things done. While a state representative I passed a law that closed a loophole in our state sex offender laws. People found not guilty by reason of insanity did not have to register. I changed that and added that definition to the registration law. I also initiated and ran community events like the first 9/11 tribute held outside at Nashua High less than a month after the attack - 5,000 people attended. Also, I began the Mayor's Presidential Essay Competition which I ran for three years. Over 1,200 children participated. www.ward2nashua.com
Feel free to include a summary statement or platform below if there are any other particular points you would like to relay to voters.
I believe we need more communication and accountability. Accountability is the basis for good government. I will not be a rubber stamp for or just constantly against any idea or motion because of personality I will look at the merits of each issue. I will hold ward meetings. I will communicate with the ward. I am concerned about crime and want to keep Nashua the safe nice community I moved to many years ago. I ask for your vote.
Thank you. Elenore Casey Crane
