With its dragons, zombies, and magic, "Game of Thrones" bears little resemblance to our world. But the series and the books it's based on draw inspiration from 15th-century France and England. Kavita Mudan Finn talks about these parallels and what they can tell us about the world of the show and our own preoccupation with history.
Finn earned a Ph.D in English Literature from Oxford University with research and teaching interests in medieval and early modern literature. She currently teaches at Simmons College in Boston and Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester.
