November NH 'Fugitive of the Week' Arrested in Somerville, Mass.

On Dec. 23 members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Fugitive of the Week, Christopher Corona, in Somerville, Mass.

Corona, 45 was last known to be residing at a residence in Concord, NH. Corona was being sought by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear on a charge of armed robbery. Corona was charged with an armed robbery, stemming from an Incident that occurred in Manchester, NH in November, 2012.

Corona had fled the State of New Hampshire in an effort to avoid being arrested on this very serious charge As part of the U.S. Marshal’s fugitive investigation, Corona was aired as the 'Fugitive of the Week' on September 17, 2013. The 'Fugitive of the Week' is broadcast on WTPL-FM, WMUR-TV, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch and is prominently featured on the internet.
Information developed by investigators led the task force to his girlfriend’s apartment on Sycamore Terrace in Somerville, Mass. During a search of this residence, Corona was located attempting to hide at the end of the bed and was arrested without any further incident. Corona was turned over to the Somerville Police Department, where he will be processed as a fugitive from justice.

Corona was expected to be held following a court appearance, pending his return to Hillsborough County to face the armed robbery charge.    

Several members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts participated in this arrest, including task force officers from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Mass. State Police, and officers from the Somerville Police Department, along with deputy U.S. Marshals from both Mass., and N.H.

Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 5,523 arrests. These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 7 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
