State Rep Pleads No Contest in Duck Incident

State Rep. David Campbell, D-Nashua, appeared in court Friday where he pleaded no contest to charges in connection with a widely publicized Dec. 23 incident in which he ran over and killed five ducks outside a Nashua hotel.

The Nashua Telegraph reports Campbell was charged with "illegal taking of water fowl" and was ordered to pay a $695 fine. Campbell also reportedly donated a matching amount to the Audobon Society.

Campbell released the following statement:

“I apologize and ask forgiveness from those I have offended and from others that may judge me solely on the basis of this very unfortunate accident,” he said in the statement.
